HO HO My Goodness! The December Beach Trash Numbers!

The month of December brought nearly 6300 pieces of beach trash to South Mission Beach. This represents ONLY the categorized items that one of our volunteer's records. Our other five volunteers pick up an average total of 40 lbs of trash on a daily basis.

Added to the monthly trash pick up is 272 Pounds of Trash from a Beach Cleanup and Toys for Tots Toy Drive we co-hosted with the Mission Beach Town Council. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to clean and donate toys.

We also cleaned up 8 illegal beach fires between the Jetty and Belmont Park. Many illegal fires are littered with broken glass, plastic bottles, beer cans, and other trash.
